This commission was requested as a ‘thank you’ for someone wanting to give an ever-lasting bouquet as a sign of their appreciation to a Care Home for looking after an elderly relative. The flowers were specifically chosen as a symbol of lasting affection and remembrance with colours that are bright and cheery. The soft background was achieved by overlaying thin washes of paint with a brush and the flowers built up with a palette knife to add depth and texture bringing them slightly away from the canvas.
