Demonstrations and Workshops
Just to let you know that you can book a demonstration or a workshop with me for an event at your club; group or society … I have a wide range of skills covering different materials and techniques so can tailor my visit to your specific needs.
Demonstrations usually start with a brief introduction to me and my work before starting a painting which on average lasts about 2 hours. During this time I explain my thoughts and methods as I paint and welcome conversation and questions from the audience as the painting develops. I aim to provide a very informal relaxed atmosphere where people can enjoy seeing a painting come to life.
The painting itself can be available to buy at the end of the demonstration or as with previous events I’m happy for it to be auctioned off for a charity of your choice.
At demonstration events you also get the opportunity to purchase a selection of my paintings, prints and giftware which I can bring with me.
Demonstration/Guest Speaker Events £150…plus travel expenses
Workshops can be arranged for a full day or half day experience each starting with an initial demonstration to introduce you to the topic followed by individual advice and guidance to help you produce your own version of the subject. Materials can be provided if needed or advice can be given as to what to bring with you. Again I aim for an easy going environment where the emphasis is on enjoying the activity as well as learning something new.
Half Day Workshop £15 per person…
Minimum group size 7 maximum group size 10
Full Day Workshop £30 per person…

Workshop prices are based on a minimum capacity and include preparation time for samples and teaching resources designed specifically for your groups needs. A maximum group size is advised to ensure a sufficient level of individual attention.
Travel is charged at 50p per mile as estimated by Google Maps for a return journey. No travel charge for venues within a 5 mile radius.
For large group demonstrations provision of a camera and projection facilities would be advisable for the comfort of your guests.
Please note the amount of these I can do each year is limited as I also teach regular weekly classes and one day courses, so if you’re interested please book well in advance to avoid disappointment.
“I have been attending Jo Watson’s ‘Art for Relaxation’ classes for a number of years now and she is a very inspiring and competent artist who makes her classes fun, informative and a joy to be part of.”
“Jo’s Art classes wholeheartedly value and encourage individual styles. The freedom to experiment with different techniques / mediums is so enjoyable and confidence building , with Jo’s expert eye and helpful suggestions always making for a very rewarding work of art.”
“Last March, renowned local Artist Jo Watson gave a talk on art for our Conservative Ladies Luncheon whilst also creating the above painting. Jo then donated the painting to us which was raffled with the proceeds being donated to the Alzheimer’s Society. This was both an entertaining occasion and was enjoyed by all.”
